ReZ dAy!

*This is 2 days late, my acct was fooked for a bit!*
Today is my Rez Day! Happy Rez Day to meh! It sounded very rock & roll in my head!  So, this is actually the first rez day I've been actively in SL lol.  Crazy right?  I decided my blog would be a little bio if you will.  How I started, and how I got to be here now 3 years later in SL.  We'll laugh, we'll cry, we'll ...lets face it, we'll probably laugh alot.  I am quite aware of how crazy I can be at times and I rather tend to embrace it.  I wouldn't be me without it.  Here we go!  This is how it alllll began...[too dramatic?]

I was on Yahoo! Msgr, when my friend Ladybug [SL name] IM'd me.  She was frantic and excited, and I was AFK.  So, being incredibly impatient and annoying [love ya gurl!], she texted my phone to tell me to get my assi to my computer so she could talk to me instead of just texting me what she wanted.  When I finally got back to my comp, she rambled about how I should always be at my comp when it was her and then told me she had been with a friend on Second Life.  She says to me 'gurrrrl you have to dl it!  go find it and get it' so I said, "dude, wtf is it" and she's like "OMG Mag [SL name] told me to dl it a few months ago and she finally got around to getting me on with her and she took me to some place and there were avatars having sex!  i could hear like moaning and everything!!! LOL".  So of course, my natural response was "ugh, leave it to you to find more places to be a perv".  'Shutty and go download it!'  So I did, and by the time it was all said and done, it was time for sleep lol.  So I had found out about it, searched it and downloaded it.  Then I registered, and went to bed.  A few weeks later, she tried to get me on and my laptop just couldn't handle it so I deleted it, uninstalled it and never went on again.  Pretty uneventful, huh?

About 7-8 months later, I got a new Acer and I was in a very ho-hum relationship with a fewl of a man and I got an email about SL, so I recalled having made an account.  I had my info re-sent to my email and I signed on.  My avatar was so weird looking, but at the time I didn't know any better.  I thought everyone looked like that.  I spent a few weeks trying to learn how to walk, and I was stuck in between a wall and a tree somewhere on Orientation Island for about 3 weeks.  I'd log in, try to get the heck out of there...fail and log off.  I lost patience very fast with the game, and so I never got too far with it in the beginning.  Eventually, I ran into a lovely woman who on voice, made fun of me and gave me a transferable skin and shape.  Can I just pause here to tell you what I looked like? OMG I don't know who remembers the default avatars here in 07-08 but I had the one with the red dress, white shirt and black ponytails for hair.  Ok so I thought manipulating the newb hair would give me an actual hairstyle I would like.  So very wrong...I don't know what I did to it but it looked like zombie hair.  The only claim I can give myself is it was my signature black LOL.  I tried to give her pinkish nail polish, and somehow turned her whole arm up to her elbow this pinkish purple color.  I attempted to give myself black tights, my whole body was black except my head which was sickly white, and of course my colorful arms.  I was one hot mess let me tell you what.  Had I known how to take a snapshot back then, I would have been afraid to break the camera.  So, she transferred me these items and I crashed.  I was so embarrassed at what she had said and the fact she wasn't actually on voice talking to me, but someone else telling them how I looked and OMG'ing it all that I didn't log back on for several more weeks.  Upon reading some tutorials on how to get dressed and whatnot, I braved it once again sometime in early April or May, I believe.  I put on the shape and skin she gave me, and proceeded to try to find different clothes.  I learned slowly but surely, and all alone because Ladybug's computer had died, and she didn't have another one that could handle SL.  My partner in crime was nowhere to be found and I was trying to learn all of this new world on my own.  Luckily, I'm ridiculously intelligent and got things fairly fast now that my computer could keep me online long enough to learn some things.
I found a new skin that I liked a bit better, and I worked on making my own shape to look how I wanted.  Didn't know at the time about buying shapes, and what have you.  Just thought everyone made their own, so I did and I still use it to this day.  Of course, I have several versions now but all with the same face and I think I'll keep it lol.  When I had started to get in the swing of things, I met a sweet man just starting out himself and we became friends.  He took an immediate liking [of course] to me, and we hung out whenever we were on together.  We're partners in SL and RL now, and the rest of that story is for another blog lol.  In between Gio and I partnering, I had another SL break due to a hectic RL and another computer malfunction.  I had to get my laptop fixed, and was working 2 jobs.  He looked for me everyday until I came back and I of course thought he was some sort of crazed stalker.  When we were on, we explored SL together & made the most out of each minute we spent online.  We danced, we shopped, we built random things that made no sense just to try out our editing skills.  One day, I walked into a shop that would change my whole SL.  I became the group manager @ Mythology which later became MYTH, became friends with Aeris & she actually was the one that told me I should try blogging.  She taught me about clothing, where to shop and how to flick my Flickr. I did, and here I am now with my site, which I've been on for more than a year *yay* and also blogging for The Metaverse Tribune [http://metaversetribune.com - Mi Paraiso Virtual].  I am taking my own pictures and actually making them look decent enough to post *yay again!* and attempting to learn other things as well.  People actually stop and tell me they like the way that I write, they like that I put so much effort into my blogs and that they actually just like reading what I ramble about here.  It makes me all warm and fuzzy...I used to write poetry [well I still do...] and songs, and now I write about Virtual Fashion and I kinda adore it.  Photography is a RL love of mine, and I'm excited to learn more about creating beautiful photos for SL as well.  Making my own shapes led me to creating shapes for others also, which as of now I'm only doing on a 'Hey u asked, so sure I'll make one' basis.  I probably do too much, but I think i'm just well rounded lol.  I don't want to rule the world, or SL...I just want to be me. I don't need to be popular, I just want those that know me to view me in a good light.  I'm not high and mighty, I just always try to do as good as I can!  All in all, I think me is pretty ok.  This is just how I wagonwheel.  And even after reading all of this, I hope you do too! Hehe...if not, damn it I dunno.  Lemme give u a linden...I'm poor, is 1L$ a good bribe??

Indyra Originals

[conversation IRL, sitting next to each other @ the computer]

Giovanni: Hey babe, what are you doing?
Anjelyc: I am...looking through my inventory for things I want to get rid of
Giovanni: Why?
Anjelyc: Well, I like it to be organized...u know that! I did urs remember?
Giovanni: yeah...now I can't find anything
Anjelyc: Whatever, its awesome as I am and u know it [clicks a folder & wears]
Giovanni: Where did you get that and how come i've never seen it before!
Anjelyc: I dunno I have a bunch of stuff you haven't seen...since when do I wear fishnet halters?
Giovanni: Well you should start...

In all honesty, it was a really well made fishnet halter & matching boyshort thing but it showed alll the goodies so I had to take that off [yeah, I kept it tho].  For the sake of honesty, I'll say i'm not sure how I even got that because as far as I can remember I had never gone to Indyra Originals before last week.  Now, I could be wrong but I don't recall really.  I'm sure that makes me seem like a total SLoser lol, but hey what can I say.  I wasn't up with the cool kids til recently, and I've only got a visitors pass right now!  That lingere was so well made that I wanted to see more, so I hopped on the handy landmark and ended right in front of the store.  I walked around and realized there was some sort of sale going on, so I got a tad bit excited.  Hey, Puerto Ricans and sales what can I say...i'm a product of my upbringing.  I walked all around the store and then there was this floating woman above my head with her cute little skirt billowing as she bobbed in the air.  I wondered if she worked there, or had maybe just landed and wasn't aware that she was in the air.  Then I realized it was the owner, and she was arranging items in her store so I moved it along feeling quite foolish.  It's ok, you can laugh.  I did...ok stop, that's enough.  There was so much I wanted to buy, I was dizzy from looking at all the fun clothes to wear!  And she makes shoes to match her clothes, that is so nifty.  I find myself at a loss on occasion with matching shoes to my new outfits and Indyra just went and cut out the middle man - awesomeness.

Well, as we know I can't say no to a good sale or a cute outfit so yep I bought something and then I found something else and here we all are sharing a blog moment.  It might have been during a hunt..or a subscriber gift or...I don't know, something.  But I do remember getting this pink jacket and being thoroughly confused as to why there was only 2 prims in the folder.  One of those little boxes was the WHOLE JACKET!  There was two versions, and ADM that must take forever, who knows I can't make clothing but its so cute and so I threw that on also, for pictures sake.
There are some really fabulous designs at Indyra Originals and I advise anyone that's never been to go, ASAP.  Anyone that has, hey go again!  Who knows what you might find there that is completely to die for!

50L$ Friday! ~ OMG I actually bought something this time...

I have gone through the list of 50L Friday items for weeks now, never purchasing a thing!  Not for lack of good items, but nothing jumped out at me I guess.  I was about to log off, and I got the new list from my subscribe group @ lamb.  I decided to check things out, as anyone who's done these kind of things knows ... even though it's time the items aren't always out lol.  I went anyway, wasn't doing anything and I was curious to see whatever was out.  I went through the whole list once again, and went to bed.  There were a few places that weren't ready and nothing else that I wanted to buy at that time.  Maybe I was tired lol.  Anyway, sometime tonight I decided to finish it before it was all over so off I went to all the places because i had forgotten where I had been and what I hadn't seen yet.  Then I got to *Shai* and saw these leather skirts.  I've been searching for a pencil skirt for a few weeks now that I like, and even though these aren't exactly that I loved them!  They were 50L per color, or a fat pack for 180L.  Clearly, we know what I chose!  The top is actually very old LOL, Gio bought it for me many moons ago when we first started dating.  It has 3 transparency levels and the bra to wear underneath the more see-thru tops.  I don't know why I decided to find this particular top but alas, I did and I think I like it lol.  It's from LUXUS, and I might stop over there and see what's changed in the last 2 years!

I've been to the next shop plenty of times, not just for 50L Fridays.  There are some really adorable items and its all very girly and cutesy.  It's called *So Many Styles* and I like the little bubble dresses, but I digress I'm not blogging about those today.  The shirt is cute, and well made so I snatched it up and went on about my merry shopaholic way.  The messenger bag is a sweet little color changeable group gift from MIEL, and Bermuda shorts from MYTH.  The hair is W&Y, I think I got it at Hair Fair last year if I'm not mistaken.  I could be...
All in all I think it was a pretty satisfactory shopping night!  Too bad there's not more guy items out there so I can drag Gio along for our usual shenanigans.  If any of you have fun 50L items to share, feel free!  I'm super nosy :)

FuLo! by Dita Tran

Have you ever befriended someone that no one else understood why you would? When I had just started out on SL, really started not signed up I came across a girl that was brand new and we kind of leaned on one another. We found things, and let each other know and helped make our avatars better together. Once we were in the swing of things, our paths took very different turns as sometimes happens. But, even still we always checked in with each other on occasion just to trade secrets and SL happenings. She was very much into the...other side, shall we say...of SL. When Gio found out we were friends, he couldn't fathom why. We're very different people, and yet we always remembered that initial bond. Maybe our SLives didn't connect, but sometimes you just can't forget when someone helps you out. When Heven decided to leave SL, she sent me a bunch of her things that were transferable & she thought I would actually use. One being her Xcite! kit (LOL) which I have yet to use and probably never will, and another being this very pretty necklace! There was absolutely no information other than a creator name so I stored it away, along with all the fun memories of finding decent hair and skin in a sea of freebiecrapola. A few blogs ago, I pulled this very pretty necklace out and wore it for the post. I had to know where it came from, so I IM'd the creator. A very pleasant woman by the name of Dita Tran, who very excitedly said yes, of course I could use her jewelry on my blog and she hoped I liked it! Well I did, so I did lol. Recently, I went to her shop which is still up and coming, but hell isn't that the best time to find them? She's got a small selection right now, but it is beautiful and I really think if you like jewelry which, what woman doesn't really...you should check it out. When I got there, my eye immediately went toward a gorgeous necklace that I cammed closer to for a better look. And yes, then I bought it! It comes with the matching earrings, it's called "Fleur" and it is amazing.
The pretty dangle-y earrings here are also "Fleur" but a separate option to match with the necklace. The set shown here is just about the most gorgeous jewelry freebie I've ever gotten. The "Gabrielle" set, in an exclusive color just for her subscriber group is a set of round earrings with a matching necklace. The store is on the same sim as Glance skins, so in this picture I thought I'd wear one of those skins as a little shout out. It was supposed to be my skin week, after all. Now, being the nosy person that I am I was curious how she came up with the name FuLo. I found out when I visited her shop for the first time, so you can too! LOL I'll tell you this...it's a great name...her stuff really is F*cking Lovely!

Skin Sloot! Pt 1

There are so few things that you can do in SL anymore to make yourself unique. Popular items is usually a matter of 'everyone has that!' because its well known and can sometimes be hard to stand out among the crowd. Making your own shape, or having one custom made that no one else will ever have [which I do, btw lol] is a good option. I made my own shape and I have different versions but all with the same face. I've looked like this since '08 and I happen to adore my Anjelyc silhouette ;) the versions mainly for modeling outfits and my curvier version after I had my son. Skins are such a vital part of your look, and there are so many choices out there that its almost impossible to know if you've made the right choice the first time you buy one. I spent 1000L$ on my first bought skin, and I thought I was just the biz back then. It was not that cute lol, I still have it tho because I can't bear to part with it. Those that like to change their looks up have several different skins, some have their favorites that no matter what they will always be wearing and there are the chameleons [ahem AERIS] that have a skin folder bigger than some people's shoe inventory. Doing this kind of thing can be incredibly pricey and we all can't afford that so I say do whatever works for you as long as you are happy with the look you are presenting. It's not easy out here in this crazy mixed up Second Life, and we do what we can. There are alot of decent freebies out there, so stock up on those as much as you can! Do hunts, subscribe to skin stores & catch those sales!

This particular skin that I've chosen to highlight in my series of Skin salutes if you will, is from [Pink Fuel]. I looked at it, and it screams 'emo' to me, so that's why I took pictures like this. The poses are emo poses from [LAP] and the bodysuit is from COCO. While we're being honest here, I don't think i've seen an emo avatar but I imagine they are out there. Nonetheless, this skin isn't just that it's just what popped into my crazy head at the time I bought it. I think the details are awesome, the lips especially. Love a good set of lips on my skins, people. With all of the fashion out there I can think of a number of looks this skin would compliment. And nowadays, when skins of quality are up to and over 1000L$ just for 1 it is a total and complete steal at the 75L$ I paid. This one is the Maple skin tone, but there are 4 others to choose from. Go check them out, and all of the other wonderful skins down at [Pink Fuel]. I have a feeling there may just be one there that you fall in love with...

[Pink Fuel] might not be one of those uber popular skin places to shop but it might just be the perfect place to highlight you in the crowd of effortlessly normal avi's.

We're in FULL GRAY here, people!

Anyone that knows me knows I'm incredibly annoying when I'm working on something. I am like a rabid kitty on catnip clawin a curtain and out for each ribbon. Doesn't make me a bad person tho, just dedicated! I like to do my best, and so with working with Wear Gray I was stopping by every so often and checking out the sim. Making sure I saw each set-up, and snapping pics of the ones I liked. Then i'd see random things I hadn't noticed before, or that someone had just set up and had to go around again. I think I might know the sim better than the people that built it. It really was a neat experience to see as people were setting up, decorating and re-arranging all of their sale items and vendors before there were any people there. Never actually done it before, good times lol. I'm sure after awhile everyone got to wondering what the heck I was doing walking in circles, but everyone knows when there's that much to look at you miss things! Hopefully by now I've seen it all. There was one shop in particular that I had to stare at for a long time...the setup near brought tears to my eyes and I think the designer did such an amazing job.

I encourage everyone to stop by and take a look, the designer of Elymode clearly put alot of heart & soul into this setup and it would be a wonderful thing to support the time she took to do this. Also, she's got some fabulous vendors out all 100% donated to the ABTA!

This cutesy lil dress is courtesy of *Boof*, which also made the Wear Gray pin in the picture down below. The tree trunk is from {what's next} and it is one of several adorable home items available for the Wear Gray fair. This trunk has a shadow/non shadow option and 4 sit options for your convenience. They are both donated items for the ABTA.
This picture is my little collage of looks from the Wear Gray donations vendors. We have the I 'heart' SL tee from *Rezlpsa Loc* as well as the Anne Wears Gray Hair, the *Boof* Wear Gray pin and MYTH Trepid Jeans. Then, we have a White tee & Pocket Cord Shorts from *Dreams* followed by a dress from Vanita's Vestures called Opiate & the little ribbons fluttering about the pic are courtesy of Foxworth Creations Gray Ribbon Poofer. There are so many items up for sale here, as well as auctions going on for one of a kind items so please come on down to Wear Gray Fair, spend a few lindens, meet some new people and help an amazing charity!

Oh me, Ohmai!

Sometimes a series of events places you in the right place at the right time because that is where you were supposed to be all along and you never knew it. I have this habit of, when I'm not running around checking out random LM's I'm given or writing or tinkering in photoshop...of wandering. On occasion, it is to my benefit but more often than not I'm just teleporting around SL aimlessly. I was casually strolling around the Cupcake Sim, I luv the rain effects lol always making a mental note to get an umbrella so I can take some random just for me pics. So, I had no idea that there was an adjacent sim that was owned by the same person [I think]. It's called Cheesecake! which is so adorable lol. Well, I walked around a great big store that I kind of recognized so maybe I was doing a hunt or something. I've never finished a hunt, to be honest. Its so much work to search for those little items that I tend to give up about half way thru. I don't know how those serial hunters do it, my eyes get all crossed and its all over. So, I was trying to find where all the rest of the shops were because I assumed that Cheesecake was just like Cupcake. Not the case...

I really don't know how I got to where I was, but I found myself smack in front of a door and some stairs. The door led to this teenie little shop with a few items in it, so I decided to take a little peek around. What I found was like...finding a diamond in a closet! Just stashed away there unable to shine for the world. I was amazed at the incredible clothing I saw in front of me. You really just don't know what to look at first! I cammed because I do that when I want to get closer and omg I saw the Silhouette Collection. There are no words...I've never seen anything like this in SL and as we all know, I get around lol. [Hey, don't be dirty!] The design and construction of these items are beautiful. I couldn't decide which of the 5 looks I wanted, so I opted for the pack of all 5. Now, I know your thinking I'm a blogger so I can have that lol but no I paid for it thanks. I don't mind buying actually, because if I like it shouldn't I support the designer in their attempt to make a living? In my mind, it lets them know i'm serious about their work and I hope they get serious about mine. If they don't, hey I know I did my best. Back to what I was saying, I mean is this not the cutest little collection ever? I brainstormed right there in the store and proceeded to leave my sistah from another set of parents an offline telling her I needed help with a picture idea.

My mind had Rodeo Drive, high glam & fashion all over it. I tore apart my inventory finding accessories for the pictures and Aeris worked on backround and poses. We're a good team, I tell ya. I tell her too lol. It was a joint effort and I think a beautiful picture came from it. We had the poses, courtesy of Aeris buying them from Glitterati lol. The gorgeous clothing, courtesy of me buying them from the wonderful little shop !Ohmai. Aeris is an Xstreet genious and found the cute little ballet flats there from Cherry, which is where the clutch came from as well. I hit the Truth sale hard, if you couldn't already tell [totally Aeris' fault, btw] and there are a few there from Hair Fair also. All in all, I think it was an amazing success. We got some great looks, a fantastic picture and a pretty awesome blog lol. I'm not sure how many of you have heard of !Ohmai before, but really...go take a look. The place is total couture, seriously...and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality you receive. If you're not so into the fancy, there is also !Ohmai Basics right next door with all your everyday needs! Get the same quality on items you can wear any day of the week. I hope you all check it out! I'll be going back soon myself

9/12 ~ Be There!

The time is almost here! On September 12th, put on your best gray duds and get ready for Wear Gray for a Day 2010! It is shaping up to be a fabulous occasion full of fashion, music, fun and awareness! There are vendors everywhere with limited edition items that the designers are donating completely to the American Brain Tumor Association. There are also other items that designers have so generously donated as well, above and beyond what was expected. Shop space has been donated, time and assistance. Look at what we can achieve when we all work together!

Broken Doll has a total of 8 outfits that will be contributing funds to this amazing event. There is quite a bit of merchandise here to look at and spend those lindens on in support of Wear Gray. I did a teenie collage highlighting a few things, which doesn't do justice to the items themselves!

.:ZcZ:. [Zanzibar CreationZ] has a cute little brain thought bubble that hovers over your head with several phrases. Also, charity fundraiser wristbands...I won't tell you what they said, but they gave me a good giggle. Make sure you come to Wear Gray Fair & see for yourself!

!T Junction has out this 'Foxy' tee, as well as a a Kiss? tee & Love, Peace and Party tee. Did I mention that the items in the pictures are just the exclusive Wear Gray merchandise? Well they are! There is much more out with each vendor so trust me, there is plenty to look at and shop for while supporting a wonderful, noble cause!

.Magoa. has created some beautiful items for Wear Gray. The Flutterings Dress in Teal & Silver, and Maia in Silver are exclusive 100% donated items. All of the items out in this booth are donating a portion of the proceeds to the ABTA.

Izzie's has an outfit out in grayscale and full color, both donated to the ABTA. This lovely outfit comes with a beautifully crafted jacket, shirt, and both pants with cuffs and the shorts you see above. The details are wonderful and are sure to be a big hit!

New designer on the block, Chartreusia has a previously released item out "Kaleidoscope" in a brand new color for the fair as well as this Satin Swirl Dress and her line of prim eyes. Always wonderful to see new, friendly faces out there lending a hand!

These adorable zebra print slippers, and wool sweater with prim attachments are A-Bomb's contribution to the cause. In addition to these items, they also have leopard print wedges for women and a striped polo shirt all being donated to the ABTA.

Wear Gray for A Day is a gathering of Second Life designers of all kinds, coming together in support of a cause. This event will be for 2 weeks, and will raise money and the awareness of how vital Brain Tumor research is. Created & organized by Sanura Snowpaw, Wear Gray is a beautiful tribute to the life of her RL cousin who battled brain cancer for almost ten years, passing in 2009. Wear Gray began in RL, and the strength of Sanura's abilities and conviction brought it to Second Life now in it's second year and growing in leaps and bounds.

In it's first year, Wear Gray raised L$212,524. We are all hoping to shatter that record this year, and we need every one's help! Come on down and meet some fantastic people, buy some great items or just donate whatever you can. I chose to write these blogs so that I can reach anyone and everyone! I believe in this cause, and we all hope to see you @ Wear Gray Fair. It's on until September 25th, so we hope to see you there and gain your support! For more information on Brain Tumor Research, please visit http://www.abta.org/.

Anjelyc: I need a new dress I think...
Giovanni: don't you have like a bunch you haven't worn yet?
Anjelyc: yeah...
Giovanni: well...?
Anjelyc: so what's ur point?
Giovanni: I think that WAS my point..

Men will never understand. I don't know about other women, but I need to be 'in the mood' to wear something. It's not just about where I'm going, but how I feel that day. You can look at a closet filled with clothing [or an inventory, in this case!] and find nothing you want to wear. Well, I took it upon myself to leave Gio at home tinkering with his crazy new talking birdy and I left to do a little bit of browsing. Somehow, I ended up in Miel lol as I do on plenty of occasions and I thought hey why don't I check out the neighboring shops? Come to think of it, I don't recall ever doing so. I got a little caught up in the rainy-ness of the sim and started skipping around, forgetting what I had gone there for in the first place and I am positive I skipped my way into a full circle. I was just about to retrace my steps and start again when I saw what looked like scales out of the corner of my eye. They were red, and I was curious so I walked into the shop. EVERYTHING in the store was hand drawn [is it hand drawn? painted? I dunno it was done by hand] and just beautiful! The Penelope dress immediately caught my eye as something that was made perfectly and seemingly tediously. The scale pattern that grabbed my attention was the skirt of the dress, and the tops came in a matching color or a neutral. 8 different colors, 2 ways to wear each. Can we say bargain??? The store is Elate! and just the name itself is exciting, isn't it lol. The Designer -slash- Owner is Kellie Iwish, and she is completely sweet totally open to anyone interested in her store or any customers needing assistance. Can I just add right here that her mainstore also has prefabs and furniture? Of course I can, it's my blog! Moving on...I spoke with her a few minutes and immediately got the good tingly vibes...ah! I knew an entry would commence. So I think this was about when I started mentally shopping in my inventory for hair, shoes, etc. and I'm fairly positive Gio dozed off at that point...this having been the first day of Hair Fair, he knew I was in for a long night...

fri.day on Wednesday!

fri.day

Usually, I try to sleep when my lil man is sleeping because he can really wear ya down. Today, for some reason I can't sleep lol. I am watching 'From Paris with Love' and sim-hoppin on SL. If I remember correctly, I got a note card and TP'd somewhere then decided to walk the sim. I do this alot lol, and I came across a cute little jumper so I walked in the store. All I kept seeing was fri. so I thought that's what it was called. It's not ~ it's fri.day and its a cute little store with a sweet little romper that I bought! Sometimes, I mentally go through my inventory to see if I find anything I might have to accessorize this outfit or whatever I happen upon. I had just bought lots of hair because I dared to go to Hair Fair within the first week! EEK! Survived tho :P yay, and lived to tell about it. So I hunted down and found this cute lil ponytail from Decoy. Also, last month I went to shoe fair and I did end up buying a few things there as well that I haven't even worn yet! let alone blog about. Heinous crime, I know but 'tis true! So I recalled a silver pair of shoes I had bought from R2 and noticed that the outfit came with a silver belt. YAY! I needed jewelry obviously, and later in the day I was browsing through the Project Unicef items and picked up a gorgeous platinum bangle set from Purple Moon. I was really on a roll I tell ya, its almost scary. When I was ready to take the pictures I thought to myself, I said 'Self...how can you make this ultra cute?' and self sure answered. I dug up an old pose set with props from Attituede and it was AWN! But alas...top is looking a bit bare...checked my inventory and I found that cute little necklace, which I got from Twisted & Spoiled some time ago. I couldn't even tell you how long ago that was, but I haven't worn it in over a year I'm sure. When it was all put together I gotta tell ya, I was feelin prettyyyy dang cute. I didn't actually intend on making it a blog but I thought hey, why not? I'm trying to be a bit more proactive with my writing and it's always fun to share my shenanigans with you guys. So I hope you all like it! I'm working on my picture skills, I don't know if you all have noticed? Not great but hey...not as bad as when I started...geez if u want nightmares have a look at those....

On our first official 'SL date to shop together', Gio and I were looking for formalwear. We both enjoyed going to the clubs, allowing our avatars to dance the night away and just act silly together in IM. He's very mellow, loved the fact that SL is riddled with romantic clubs with romantical slow music lol. I love music, and loved being with him so I didn't care where we went. Back then, and really still to this day it's not easy to find good quality, sexy mens clothing. When you do, its almost like you've hit the lotto. God forbid the place closes down or something, SL is so woman-centric when it comes to fashion. The same is true for RL really, but its not quite so needle in a haystack.

In reality, i'm pretty picky with my lindens...even now. We went to a bunch of stores and I couldn't find a thing that I liked. I was so set on finding something I actually wanted because I was using MY LINDENS! that it took forever, Gio couldn't find anything either and we ended up in those horrid freebie outfits lol. At the end of the day I guess it didn't matter because we spent no time conversing with anyone else. We were just 2 avi's in our own little world, dancing the SL night away. Eventually, we did get some better clothing but that was quite a bit of time away hehe. My very first outfit I ever bought with my own lindens was from MYTH. It was a complete and total coincidence that Aeris ended up being my 'boss' and then & still my friend. I didn't even know where I was when I bought it. Just liked it, wore it for days and saw it later and said 'HEY! I HAVE THAT!!' The first dress I bought was a beautiful, shiny, poofy dress that could be worn 2 ways so I thought omg what a bargain! Interestingly enough, I wasn't shopping for dresses when I found it. I was in a hair shop, if that's not the silliest thing ever. The dress was somewhere between 350-500L$ and I sat there debating the purchase for at least 20 minutes. I bought it tho, because it was so pretty in my opinion...more pretty than most of the things I had come to see on SL thus far. I bought it, threw on my best updo and the most decent pair of shoes I owned and we danced! Still to this day, I can wear that dress so yeah...I call it a great purchase.

The reason I rambled on about all that is because I was out randomly shopping around for the pretty things, and I came back across Zaara. I purchased a cute yellow top and mentally shopped for some jewelry. RL called, so I had to keep it all in my head until I go back. The indian asthetic, the beauty of the clothing and the timelessness of the pieces are rare. How many times have you dropped crazy amounts of Lindens for something you wore once or twice? I'll still be pulling out that beautiful dress when Gio and I are out dancing with our handicapped HUD's on.

Wear Gray for A Day 2010

The American Brain Tumor Association exists in order to help eliminate tumors through research. They also try to assist with the needs of brain tumor patients and their families. The ABTA provides critical funding to researchers working to break through the barriers of tumor diagnosis, to help find treatments and care while ultimately finding a cure. It is the recognized resource for information for those living with brain tumors, their families and those that wish to be informed. Wear Gray for a Day was created last year by Sanura Snowpaw. It is a valiant effort to bring into light the desperate need for brain tumor research.

Sometimes...not frequently, but it happens on occasion! someone on SL will do or say something that truly touches my heart. there are so many things out there that you can do in Second Life. Build, design, resell, smex, shop, walk around randomly insulting people...you know, whatever works for them. So rarely does one step aside from whats all about them and do something for others. When the bottom line is simply...to help a bit. I initially encountered 'Wear Gray for A Day' last year but I couldn't stay online to see what it was really all about. Basically, my computer was horrid and I had to log out because the lagmonster had got me. Shortly after I came back, I looked into it because I never threw away my note card. Pretty awesome to find out that they're getting ready for another year and its even bigger than before!

I know alot of people try to separate SL/RL from one another but at the end of the day the truth is that you ARE human. You are on a computer, but the actions you choose in Second Life don't come from the computer. They come from you. Be ashamed, be proud but don't pretend to be someone other than yourself. When you are, beautiful things such as this can be the result. I applaud Sanura wholeheartedly for her awesomeness to bring this project about and carry it out. I'll be wearing gray and I hope you will too!

I don't really have one. Most of the things I blog, I purchased. I am always honored if someone enjoys my writing enough to send me an item to add to the blog. When I have the time to do so, I certainly will. I do alot of events blogging and work so sometimes it does take a bit and I apologize for that! Thank you in advance for thinking of me.
