52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Sienna

In all actuality, I don't know if this qualifies as Sienna?  I saw it and thought it was cute, then also I was having a hard time finding anything Sienna and I'm really a sucker for a good deal so I got it and thought well...it's close!  There's no color description for it but I thought the jacket and tights were a close match lol.  This whole blog happened in a quite humorous way and allow me to tell you my journey!  I got a subscriber message stating that Riddle [which I didn't remember] was a part of Designer's Showcase [which I had never heard of].  It was a whole outfit, and the picture looked cute so I went.  Dude, it really was only 99L and in my opinion I thought it went well with the color sienna...although in hindsight, I might have photoshopped the picture too dark - my bad.  So, I went to try the outfit on and I ended up looking like this.  Felt like shopping some more so I went to YunA's to check out the new hair styles and never even did it.  I got all caught up in messing with her Glitterati hall outside the shop in the TP area that I randomly ended up taking some pictures there and viola...blog done!  Weird right? Such is my SL lol.  It was fun thought, and I definitely like this hallway and all of the fun poses it has inside of it.  Had a blast, once again!  What's next weeks color again? Bah!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge : Silver

Is it weird that I know I have a bunch of things in my inventory that are silver and still found myself at a loss?  I think my mind was lost on New Year's Day, hopefully I get that back soon because I kind of miss it!  I was skin digging today, trying out a new look and came up with the idea to do a skin set that I have had for awhile and only photographed once before but never blogged for some unknown reason.

Although I've never done it, I know that role play is huge in SL and when this skin first came out I had no idea what it was.  Everyone was raving about it, and I went to see it and well...chick was silver.  Dark silver and shiny-ish with elf ears.  I didn't get it and duh me, I sure didn't ask.  A few days later in the group chat, I found out what it is!  Elf RP has ages, and the older a female elf is the more silver her skin becomes.  Also, that she is called a Drow hence the name of the skin.  I find that totally fascinating, but it was only a weekend thing.  I had missed the sale and thought there was no other way to be able to get it so I was asking the group if I could photograph someone that had bought the set when the owner, Oceane was nice enough to let me have the skin.  She made the special Drow skin, eyes and ears and they are available for purchase at her shop.  In addition, she has release several other Drow skins with body tattoo's and facial embellishments for a certain pretty little accent that may be a bit different from a normal one and set you apart.  I don't wear it much but I'm sure glad I remembered I had it for this challenge.  I once again stayed away from writing my normal clothing blog and I had a good time with it!  I used a couple's pose by Glitterati and edited out the man part because I didn't need it but I liked the legs up in the air thang.  The hair is by YunA and yay this time I remembered to grab the white to match the eyebrows lol.

FuLo! by Dita Tran

Have you ever befriended someone that no one else understood why you would? When I had just started out on SL, really started not signed up I came across a girl that was brand new and we kind of leaned on one another. We found things, and let each other know and helped make our avatars better together. Once we were in the swing of things, our paths took very different turns as sometimes happens. But, even still we always checked in with each other on occasion just to trade secrets and SL happenings. She was very much into the...other side, shall we say...of SL. When Gio found out we were friends, he couldn't fathom why. We're very different people, and yet we always remembered that initial bond. Maybe our SLives didn't connect, but sometimes you just can't forget when someone helps you out. When Heven decided to leave SL, she sent me a bunch of her things that were transferable & she thought I would actually use. One being her Xcite! kit (LOL) which I have yet to use and probably never will, and another being this very pretty necklace! There was absolutely no information other than a creator name so I stored it away, along with all the fun memories of finding decent hair and skin in a sea of freebiecrapola. A few blogs ago, I pulled this very pretty necklace out and wore it for the post. I had to know where it came from, so I IM'd the creator. A very pleasant woman by the name of Dita Tran, who very excitedly said yes, of course I could use her jewelry on my blog and she hoped I liked it! Well I did, so I did lol. Recently, I went to her shop which is still up and coming, but hell isn't that the best time to find them? She's got a small selection right now, but it is beautiful and I really think if you like jewelry which, what woman doesn't really...you should check it out. When I got there, my eye immediately went toward a gorgeous necklace that I cammed closer to for a better look. And yes, then I bought it! It comes with the matching earrings, it's called "Fleur" and it is amazing.
The pretty dangle-y earrings here are also "Fleur" but a separate option to match with the necklace. The set shown here is just about the most gorgeous jewelry freebie I've ever gotten. The "Gabrielle" set, in an exclusive color just for her subscriber group is a set of round earrings with a matching necklace. The store is on the same sim as Glance skins, so in this picture I thought I'd wear one of those skins as a little shout out. It was supposed to be my skin week, after all. Now, being the nosy person that I am I was curious how she came up with the name FuLo. I found out when I visited her shop for the first time, so you can too! LOL I'll tell you this...it's a great name...her stuff really is F*cking Lovely!

Skin Sloot! Pt 1

There are so few things that you can do in SL anymore to make yourself unique. Popular items is usually a matter of 'everyone has that!' because its well known and can sometimes be hard to stand out among the crowd. Making your own shape, or having one custom made that no one else will ever have [which I do, btw lol] is a good option. I made my own shape and I have different versions but all with the same face. I've looked like this since '08 and I happen to adore my Anjelyc silhouette ;) the versions mainly for modeling outfits and my curvier version after I had my son. Skins are such a vital part of your look, and there are so many choices out there that its almost impossible to know if you've made the right choice the first time you buy one. I spent 1000L$ on my first bought skin, and I thought I was just the biz back then. It was not that cute lol, I still have it tho because I can't bear to part with it. Those that like to change their looks up have several different skins, some have their favorites that no matter what they will always be wearing and there are the chameleons [ahem AERIS] that have a skin folder bigger than some people's shoe inventory. Doing this kind of thing can be incredibly pricey and we all can't afford that so I say do whatever works for you as long as you are happy with the look you are presenting. It's not easy out here in this crazy mixed up Second Life, and we do what we can. There are alot of decent freebies out there, so stock up on those as much as you can! Do hunts, subscribe to skin stores & catch those sales!

This particular skin that I've chosen to highlight in my series of Skin salutes if you will, is from [Pink Fuel]. I looked at it, and it screams 'emo' to me, so that's why I took pictures like this. The poses are emo poses from [LAP] and the bodysuit is from COCO. While we're being honest here, I don't think i've seen an emo avatar but I imagine they are out there. Nonetheless, this skin isn't just that it's just what popped into my crazy head at the time I bought it. I think the details are awesome, the lips especially. Love a good set of lips on my skins, people. With all of the fashion out there I can think of a number of looks this skin would compliment. And nowadays, when skins of quality are up to and over 1000L$ just for 1 it is a total and complete steal at the 75L$ I paid. This one is the Maple skin tone, but there are 4 others to choose from. Go check them out, and all of the other wonderful skins down at [Pink Fuel]. I have a feeling there may just be one there that you fall in love with...

[Pink Fuel] might not be one of those uber popular skin places to shop but it might just be the perfect place to highlight you in the crowd of effortlessly normal avi's.

I don't really have one. Most of the things I blog, I purchased. I am always honored if someone enjoys my writing enough to send me an item to add to the blog. When I have the time to do so, I certainly will. I do alot of events blogging and work so sometimes it does take a bit and I apologize for that! Thank you in advance for thinking of me.
