Wear Gray for A Day 2010

The American Brain Tumor Association exists in order to help eliminate tumors through research. They also try to assist with the needs of brain tumor patients and their families. The ABTA provides critical funding to researchers working to break through the barriers of tumor diagnosis, to help find treatments and care while ultimately finding a cure. It is the recognized resource for information for those living with brain tumors, their families and those that wish to be informed. Wear Gray for a Day was created last year by Sanura Snowpaw. It is a valiant effort to bring into light the desperate need for brain tumor research.


Sometimes...not frequently, but it happens on occasion! someone on SL will do or say something that truly touches my heart. there are so many things out there that you can do in Second Life. Build, design, resell, smex, shop, walk around randomly insulting people...you know, whatever works for them. So rarely does one step aside from whats all about them and do something for others. When the bottom line is simply...to help a bit. I initially encountered 'Wear Gray for A Day' last year but I couldn't stay online to see what it was really all about. Basically, my computer was horrid and I had to log out because the lagmonster had got me. Shortly after I came back, I looked into it because I never threw away my note card. Pretty awesome to find out that they're getting ready for another year and its even bigger than before!


I know alot of people try to separate SL/RL from one another but at the end of the day the truth is that you ARE human. You are on a computer, but the actions you choose in Second Life don't come from the computer. They come from you. Be ashamed, be proud but don't pretend to be someone other than yourself. When you are, beautiful things such as this can be the result. I applaud Sanura wholeheartedly for her awesomeness to bring this project about and carry it out. I'll be wearing gray and I hope you will too!

Is it just me? Or do those random tp's where you get an explanation after you get there a bit...what is the word...help me out here...ANNOYING! Oh muh goodness if you want me to go somewhere just tell me k? OK! lol. So, as you may have guessed that little story is the preface for my latest find. I was minding my own business, writing a notecard and mentally re-evaluating my inventory and low & behold I was in a very crowded shop. Apparently, someone who shall remain nameless tp'd me because someone on her list was harassing her about getting a midnight madness board filled. I was slightly aggrivated about it because I had not even realized I was there and then the people there were literally yelling at everyone in the shop to make sure they had hit the board. There was an abundance of 'SLAP IT!' and 'DID EVERYONE IN HERE HIT THE BOARD? WE GOTTA REACH 450!' Yeah...

Anyway, I did it because I didn't want to get mauled in my new outfit and then I took a quick cam around the store. The skin is seeming really very pretty, so I go in for a closer look. I grabbed a few demo's and ran back to my unofficial room at Aeris & Mit's lol. I loooved the skin on me, and I was inspired to ask the owner if I could blog his store. He was so receptive, gave me the warmest yes I ever done got lol. I am always quite iffy with skin stores, I know they don't like to give up their jems. A one Mr. Dragos Janus welcomed the opportunity and sent some review copies of his latest releases and here I am! This is the quickest i've ever got a blog together because well...I tend to ramble and proofread like a crazy person. I do hope to get a few blogs a week out but that doesn't happen much lol. I digress, this blog is about skin hello. The details on this skin are so awesome, the eyeshadow actually looked like it was twinkling lol. It might have been a bit of sleep deprivation as well but i'm telling you it was shining at me. The color of the skin is so what I go for, a nice golden tan not like a jersey-shore-i-look-like-i-bathe-in-spray-tan orange. Upon camming in close, I saw this shadowing on the face that made my cheekbones look absolutely to die for. Its the first skin that I noticed actually complimented the way I made the shape of my face. Plus, how cute do my lips look with that skin. All the little body details are fab as well and overall its just a really great place to get some awesome skin. The amount of makeup colors is staggering I swear. The size of the folder is shocking hehe. I would advise you all to do what I did, go grab some demo's - try them on and bask in your hotness! I will surely be traipsing around SL looking for the next thing to chat chit about in my new eStyle skin!


Thought i'd add that the price of the fat pack is insanely reasonable considering i've paid that price for 2-3 skins LOL go see 4 urself...that's my lil p.s. for today! See you all again next time! ~*~SL Smooches!~*~

Grrrr who asked him anyway...I swear! I'm back *eek* lol! Although i've been on sporadically in the past few months, I haven't really been 'back' to do all the things I SL luv. So after getting my bearings again, remembering my pw and rejoicing at the fact that I remembered how to walk and get dressed *woot*, I started to think about my blog that I luv'd writing so much and decided it was high time I wrote again. Also, because I had organized the h-e-double hockey sticks outta my inventory before I stopped coming on, I found all my favorite little outfits & accessories as well as landmarks of all the wonderful places I found. Ah, the little things that can make one so very pleased. BTW, thank you so much for all of the congrats on the baby he is my favorite little monkey, and if I may say so myself quite a little handsome guy hehe. Being that it's my first blog after being away from all the newest latest fun stuff, I thought i'd go to 3 of my favorite spots and see what the new releases they were working on looked like. I have alot of stores that I shop at, but these are some regular stops for me at least on a weekly basis. Once I am back in full SL order, you can expect alot more blogs to make up for all the time that I lost! These stores i'm about to talk to ya about...you may know them, you may not. If you don't love them yet, you better after this!

My first stop on the train of newness and fabulosity was MYTH. Aeris Pinazzo is my secret lovah and an incredibly talented designer...so she's always first on my list of stops lol. If you haven't stopped by MYTH yet, you really need to people. Seriously...don't make me hurt you. I have spoken. I will be heard! Now, back to the new releases lol, they are quite cute if I may say so myself. Apparently, while I was off bein preggers Aeris decided to show a bit of her naughty side. I was shocked and appalled at the cleavage and the mini of the skirts and the...yeah ok, I got all of it so sue me. What can I say? Who doesn't like to let the cleav be the star of the show on occasion!? Stop in to take a look at those releases, they are smexy deliciousness I promise ya. The new NEW releases [ really new & not just stuff I missed while I was busy in RL] are a super short mini-skirt with an awesome high waisted corset detail. The skirt comes in 5 colors and can be paired with the other release, which is a totally cute mini-pocket tee that comes in 7 solid colors and 4 camo prints. It's interesting that I have blogged them before, but I swear they keep doing things specifically to make me go back to their sim...after all, it's all about me right? That Steffi Villota is not just a great designer, I think she is skilled in the art of seduction LOL...I'll ask Dark about that later bwahahaaa! So last time we met, DeeTaleZ had re-opened and had a sweeeet new sim. These people are highly indecisive because their sim is changed AGAIN! It's all dark and curvy trees, very oooh and ahh lots of mystery lol. I think Steffi may never sleep IRL because there is sooo much new stuff that it really baffles the mind. I may need to stage an intervention for her lil workaholic toosh. But you know, if you're taking suggestions Steffi...more shoes! Anjelyc loves her shoes!! DeeTaleZ is going ultra sexy show it if you got it, like WOW these new releases are filthy-naughty-fantasticness I tell ya. Just when you thought there was every accessory out there in the SLW, DeeTaleZ brings you animated! body and face glitter. LOL I thought I read it wrong but no! It is true, people the creativity of the world will never cease to amaze. I love it, i'm getting some for myself so I can sparkle while I shop for the new hotness. Last but not least on my little journey through fashion land is {paper.doll} by Zoey Gabardini. I came across this shop oooh golly-gee-willikers like a year and a half ago? I was looking for something else and walked out of there with 2 shirts and a freebie tee that had me crackin up for at least 20 minutes. I wore that tee for days. I have wanted to blog {paper.doll} since forever, but at the time Zoey was working on her sim and then it was done and my computer died on me then I dared to be with child, and soon after that lil man had the nerve to want to be born! But finally, that day is upon us and I am so thankful that I have this chance. I have no idea if this store is uber-popular but it should be just like all the stores I love because I have crazyinsaneawesome taste. The clothing in {paper.doll} is fun, flirty and feisty. I think we can all agree that sums me up in so many words (ok ok it wasn't that funny). Zoey has a great eye for detail as well, and really comes up with some young and fresh ideas to make awesome designs for her customers. I have more than a few items from {paper.doll} and I luv em so much there is a designated folder for her clothes as there are for my other faves. A few of her dresses have been so mini that Gio gives me the evil eye, but hey it's not like i'm walkin around town with the baby in tow in a micro mini right? So its all good hehe. The releases that particularly caught my eye that says 'ooh i'd look so cute in that!' are a cute Terry Cloth Jumper that can be worn with or without a white tube-top-ish thing. Can I just tell you...the look without the white top? SCAND-a-LOUS!! Omg boobies everywhere lol. The colors are awesome and the look is ridiculously adorable so I must have them. Also, Zoey created these very 'in' Inked Dresses that need to be an addition to my folder as well. Various colors and designs all very stylish so therefore very ME! Last but not least, the Definition Minis that come in 4 styles let everyone out there know who you are when they read it across your body. There is Bitch in red, Independent in black, Cute in blue & Sexy in pink. Who out there doesn't think they're a combo of all 4? LOL get your booties on down to these amazing stores and hook your inventory up to diva status! Right Now!! I SAID GO!!!

DeeTaleZ Update!

Just a quickie update on what's going on with DeeTaleZ!

The sim is busy as usual, apparently not just when Steffi's partying lol. There are a bunch of models showing off the wonderful creations that she comes up with everyday, so if you are ever wondering what something might look when you put it on, just check out the models!

There are also a few new outfits coming out, and I felt obliged to let everyone know about them. First things first, last update Steffi came out with some awesome black and white prim toed stiletto's that had a star pattern. They are absolutely a must-have, and this week she has come out with a dress that matches the shoes to perfection! In addition, it has that special hug-the-booty shape to it that the guys luv to see!

I also saw this great outfit that matches an outfit I bought at DeeTaleZ's Grand Opening for my Gio! Now we can be one of those couples that walk around matching [u either luv it or hate it] and see what happens hehe. I suggest that if you have some clubbin to do this weekend, you stop by DeeTaleZ and check out their new releases. You will be turnin heads!

DeeTaleZ Grand Opening!!!

As far as I know, anyone that has a sense of style and an eye for the fabulous has a Top 5 (or 10). The places you can go into and NEED to buy something in there! It doesn't matter what day of the week you go, or even every day...you will see something u didn't see before that you have to own! I have such a list...mine happens to be more of a Top 15, but lets not dwell ok? This particular blog is more of an homage, for lack of a better adage (u like the fancy words, right?) to one of the first stores I gasped for. There aren't many designers that can really surprise you with what they come up with in a good way. Believe me, I've looked! Once upon a time, Gio & I were looking for nice men's clothing, which is for some reason incredibly sparce in SL. We came across FreeSoul and were pleasantly surprised and shocked at the same time LOL...mind you, we were both fairly new and had not been on a shopping spree so to speak. The quality of clothes blew us away, and so did the prices! When you are new, you just don't know the difference between people that just want to charge and not give quality and what is truely quality. Freesoul was obvious quality and we did end up buying some items for the both of us! Price and all, it was worth it because dagnabit we looked GOOD. Recently, I had a small SL break and came back to a notice that Freesoul was closing! I was completely devistated for 10 minutes, until I read further and realized they were going to re-open with a new name and new designs *WHEW* lol.

I was given the privilege of being able to walk around the sim before it was done, and see what was being done. It was such an amazing sight, to be able to see it mid-creation and although not before everyone, before most! Steffi Villota, Owner of DeeTalez (formerly FreeSoul Design) and Dark Hennesy, DeeTaleZ Builder are a power couple taking SL by storm! Not only have they re-designed their clothing line, but they've revamped their accessories, prim nails, new skins, shoes, eyes and even teeth! Yes, people I said TEETH. DeeTaleZ Dental can be found in the Bodyshop of the DeeTaleZ sim and I have never heard of such a thing which goes to show what visionaries these two really are. They are also very sweet, down to earth people that just want to do good work and they succeed as far as i'm concerned. I had the opportunity to ask them a few questions, little impromptu blog interview - here's what they had to say!

Anjelyc ~ The world needs to know! I have to ask! Why the new name?

Steffi & Dark - Well the reason for the new name is, we became a RL company and Freesoul Design is a registered Trademark already. And to not get into any trouble we thought it might be better to change the name.

Anjelyc ~ That is a very good idea lol, we don't want to see you guys on the news one day. Do you think it will be difficult to transition from FreeSoul, which everyone knows - to DeeTaleZ? Why?

Steffi & Dark ~ uhm well...wont be that hard...okay there are many many many people who know us as Freesoul Design, and it probably will be impossible to reach them all but also there are many who havent heard of us yet and maybe we can get their attention now ;o)

Anjelyc ~ That is so true, way to think positive. I took a walk around your new sim, and its looking great! How did you go about deciding on moving to a new sim?

Steffi & Dark ~ first of all, tyvm :) the decision came with the new name....we thought it would be better to not only come up with a new name but rather with a whole new layout.

Anjelyc ~ Great idea, its really creative. How hard is it to get everything just as you want it?

Steffi & Dark ~ best example would be the new SIM....6 MONTH of building!!! lol

Anjelyc ~ Ok that's crazyness lol, you guys sure work your butts off. Is there a tentative Grand Opening date? Will there be a celebration of any kind?

Steffi & Dark ~ No, there is no tentantive Date set yet....but yes....there will be a Big Ass Grand Opening Party :DDD

Steffi & Dark ~ Well we have had Tattoos with Freesoul already, but never had the time to work on them constantly. But now our talented Tattoo Artist Ines Craft joined us and we can offer a wide range of Tattoos !

Steffi & Dark ~ Always depends on the piece....but normally like 1 - 3 days.

Yesterday happened to be the Grand Opening and I was fortunate enough to attend. The sim was PACKED, let me tell you what it was...LAGTASTIC! That's what it was lol, but it was lots of fun. After I detached some HUD's and turned my graphics way down, I was able to walk a bit and see the crowds of people walking & flying the sim. Steffi and Dark were walking the im as well, randomly giving gift cards out to the crowd that came out to help them celebrate their Grand Opening! The party had some great music as well, DJ'd by Jayce Slade of WJay 106.9 - The Experience. Their station is streamed in the DeeTaleZ sim 24/7! Music, gifts, fun and lots of friends to help celebrate the incredible job we all know Steffi and Dark will continue, hopefully for a long time! If you haven't already stopped by the new sim, DOOOO IT! There is so much to see, so many shops to wander...so much to spend all your lindens on! The jewelry store is still under construction but there are items in there for sale! Freebies around the sim as well, and take the subway downstairs for customer service and gift cards.

Words can't begin to express how much of an honor I feel it is to be able to blog about this event, the new line and also getting to know both of these talented souls. With Steffi as Owner/Creator, and Dark as Builder, they can't seem to go wrong. I admire the dedication and attention they give to the things they create. It shows in their work that they aren't just out to make a buck, they want their names to be synonymous with QUALITY.
