52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Sienna

In all actuality, I don't know if this qualifies as Sienna?  I saw it and thought it was cute, then also I was having a hard time finding anything Sienna and I'm really a sucker for a good deal so I got it and thought well...it's close!  There's no color description for it but I thought the jacket and tights were a close match lol.  This whole blog happened in a quite humorous way and allow me to tell you my journey!  I got a subscriber message stating that Riddle [which I didn't remember] was a part of Designer's Showcase [which I had never heard of].  It was a whole outfit, and the picture looked cute so I went.  Dude, it really was only 99L and in my opinion I thought it went well with the color sienna...although in hindsight, I might have photoshopped the picture too dark - my bad.  So, I went to try the outfit on and I ended up looking like this.  Felt like shopping some more so I went to YunA's to check out the new hair styles and never even did it.  I got all caught up in messing with her Glitterati hall outside the shop in the TP area that I randomly ended up taking some pictures there and viola...blog done!  Weird right? Such is my SL lol.  It was fun thought, and I definitely like this hallway and all of the fun poses it has inside of it.  Had a blast, once again!  What's next weeks color again? Bah!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge : Silver

Is it weird that I know I have a bunch of things in my inventory that are silver and still found myself at a loss?  I think my mind was lost on New Year's Day, hopefully I get that back soon because I kind of miss it!  I was skin digging today, trying out a new look and came up with the idea to do a skin set that I have had for awhile and only photographed once before but never blogged for some unknown reason.

Although I've never done it, I know that role play is huge in SL and when this skin first came out I had no idea what it was.  Everyone was raving about it, and I went to see it and well...chick was silver.  Dark silver and shiny-ish with elf ears.  I didn't get it and duh me, I sure didn't ask.  A few days later in the group chat, I found out what it is!  Elf RP has ages, and the older a female elf is the more silver her skin becomes.  Also, that she is called a Drow hence the name of the skin.  I find that totally fascinating, but it was only a weekend thing.  I had missed the sale and thought there was no other way to be able to get it so I was asking the group if I could photograph someone that had bought the set when the owner, Oceane was nice enough to let me have the skin.  She made the special Drow skin, eyes and ears and they are available for purchase at her shop.  In addition, she has release several other Drow skins with body tattoo's and facial embellishments for a certain pretty little accent that may be a bit different from a normal one and set you apart.  I don't wear it much but I'm sure glad I remembered I had it for this challenge.  I once again stayed away from writing my normal clothing blog and I had a good time with it!  I used a couple's pose by Glitterati and edited out the man part because I didn't need it but I liked the legs up in the air thang.  The hair is by YunA and yay this time I remembered to grab the white to match the eyebrows lol.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge : Cerise

Christmastime is soooo hectic!  I've been working my festively dressed pixels off trying to blog so many things, as well as take care of my everyday responsibilities in SL as well as life itself.  Now, although Cerise is not technically pink I have to say my inventory is not really riddled with pink-like shades such as this.  So I went on a mini shopping spree!  As a blogger on a budget, I was off in search of the super cute and affordable to bring my A-GAME to this challenge.

While I was working, earning my shopping lindens lol I saw a woman come in shoe shopping and I liked her hair.  So, being a nosy type I inspected it and saved the creator's name for later.  Sold some b*tchin shoes, helped some customers and was generally being awesome! LOL afterwards, I searched the name I had stored away and TP'd to her mainstore.  The name of the store was Artilleri, and I fell in love.  My outfit is a few pieces from there although you know as well as I that I just went to check out the hair.  I got that, and the glasses lol the cardigan which is sooo cute! Also, the loverly skirt that I thought matched the color on Luna's blog pretty dang well!  Artilleri is filllllled with all kinds of amazing goodies and I would advise anyone that hasn't yet been to definitely go check it out.  It is very retro vintage incredibleness, so if you are into that at all you must must check out this store.

My shoes are of course from my wonderful workplace, Similar Italian Footwear.  This is the Venezia, which I have in the 16 color pack and I chose the maroon shade to go with my outfit ta-daaa lol.  The tank underneath all of that Artilleri wear is a simple black tank from {paper.doll} which I love, comes in all layers and really is the perfect go-to tank when you need a little layer affect.  The pose is from my loverly new friend Milli Santos, posemaker extraordinaire of NSA - No Strings Attached.  It is the 'Song in my heart' set and the mic is included for both hands with poses inside of them.  I had a lot of fun with this one, I must say.  I even searched for a Christmas cerise background and this pretty lil ornament came up.  All in all I'd call it a success!  Hope you all have an amazing holiday <3 see ya next challenge!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Sepia

Okay! I've even got as close as I can to sepia font to make up for the fact that I totally caught a space out on Sepia! *LOL*  I searched my inventory, tp'd to all kinds of stores and even looked through marketplace a bit.  I gotta say I found a fantastic pair of eyes on there, sepia tone with a heart in the center.  Too cute lol, but I digress because I didn't get them!  I remembered way back when I was a avi out on my own, looking for a really awesome skin to own I found Rockberry.  I still have and wear on occasion several of my Rockberry skins and this one I've never had the chance to properly show off until now!

This is the Rockberry Character Skin.  It is created in the sepia tone, to have that old school photograph feeling and I thought it was a really awesome idea.  Truth be told, I never had the instance to use it and I'm so glad I remembered I had it!  The backround stuff, I edited to match the skin because it looked really funky with the actual colors.  The yellow for next week might be insanely easier to handle LOL...I think I have a gray hair now.

Anjelyc:  How do you think that looks Pa?

Giovanni: You don't even look like you right now

Anjelyc: i'm trying to mix it up a lil what do u think?

Giovanni: You look fine how you normally are

Anjelyc: sheesh...perdoname for tryin somethin new lol

Nowadays, everyone is all about the tattoo layer makeup.  It is popping up everywhere, in skin shops and even in clothing shops!  I was...I think I was working and dodging group notices here and there when somehow I came across a listing for a sim that supposedly looks like Manhattan.  Being a NY'er I got all excited and wanted to see what it looked like as well as how it resembled the real deal.  So I patiently played tug of war with the time clock and when it was time to leave, I punched out and TP'd right over to this sim.  I landed in a shop, but I didn't know it was a shop right away being that everything was so gray.  Apparently alot of work went into that sim so I was excited to wander around a little bit and check out the build, as well as the shops on the sim.  We all know I can't resist an impromptu shopping spree.

So, once the shop started to rez I saw a box with lips on it. It was for tat layer lipstick and it was like...I don't know...60L maybe? I can't remember for sure and my viewer is acting up right now so I can't check. Not that I would...well I might. Anyway, I've become somewhat obsessed with finding a skin for myself that has that perfect dark red lip for the smoldering latina evening look lol. Yep, that's what I call it! As of now, I haven't found it and I am still looking but these tattoo layers could be the answer to my prayers. I have a bunch of skins that I love love LOVEEE but the lips aren't dark red. Pinks, yep and nudes oh I've got a bunch. I love the dark smokey eye with the nude lip look. I even go for it in RL, so I went a tad overboard with that. I just want one skin to have the tone I'm looking for and I can end this madness once and for all! *LOL* As for the tattoo layers, I haven't found the shade of red I'm looking for as of now so I hope to randomly come across it and excitedly tell you all about it.

Once I had rezzed, I realized I was in a shop that was specifically created to make and sell tattoo layered makeups! There is a definite variety of the genre you can just delve right in and make yourself at home putting together a million looks right there in your head lol.  Some of them weren't really what I would call my style, but I know alot of models out there love the extreme fierce look and the dark makeup or dramatic colors.  I have to say the variety is really what stuck with me.  So, even though I am completely overrun with the amount of groups I have I joined this one also.  I don't think I'll be leaving it, to be honest.  The owner is super nice, chats with the group and asks opinions of her customers.  She has started making skins, all the skins and layer makeups in the pictures here are hers.

In the 3 days that I have been a member of the group I think she's sent out 3 or 4 gifts.  At least 2 have been skins from the new line she is working on!  I've never been in a group like that before haha, but it's totally fun and everyone is polite...the gifts are awesome.  I bought a fantastic layer makeup called 'The Clone' that comes in black & white in the same box and its such a shame I refuse to use V2 [so hard! waaaah] because they are 2 part face tats and I can't wear it yet!  I hope TPV's can allow us that also because I'd really enjoy showing it off!

Soooo have I kept you waiting long enough? Hehe...the name of the shop is Elegant Epiffany and it is owned by Bubble Faintree!  For the Budget Impaired on SL, she has gatcha available and also lucky chair.  Group members can participate in Midnight Madness or...is that what it's called? I think so!  There is a group gift at the shop, and like I said random one's via the group itself.  I'd recommend joining if you enjoy wearing the makeup layers.  It's a great, affordable new little place with enough different styles that anyone can find something they'd enjoy! And at some point I have to go back...because I never did check out the rest of that sim build...

Antonio Galloway ~ Start spreading the news!

Several blogs ago, I wrote about a skin store that would change a small piece of my SL.  The next day, a wonderfully crazy woman IM'd me and asked if I ever blog clubs.  I of course, never have but I definitely want to!  I'm working on a blog now for her wonderful club, and she personally asked if I would blog this particular man.  A very talented singer and performer in her club, so I sat down with him and we chatted a bit about life, music, and the craziness of Club Jester!

Anjelyc Morales: ok cool , i must warn you i'm very nosy and if i ramble feel free to shoosh me...could be why i blog and write

Antonio Galloway: Not a problem. It should be fun

Anjelyc Morales: ooh nice thanks! my first question is how you began singing? not necessarily in SL but in general

Antonio Galloway: is it too early to shoosh you?
Antonio Galloway: Kidding

Anjelyc Morales: LOL!  Well Twi does it, but i keep going

Antonio Galloway: I like you already.

Anjelyc Morales: hehe tks, you only have to tell me as much as you want lol
Anjelyc Morales: I'm not pushy...mostly

Antonio Galloway: Well.... i started singing way back when I was in kindergarten. My music teacher gave me a solo in a school play. She said I had poise and heard me singing into a hairbrush so she started me young. lol Then I sang in school all through grade school and high school having solos. Also sang in the churches and one thing led to another and eventually started getting requests to sing around the area.

Anjelyc Morales: oh how neat, I used to sing in school also but I don't really do it too much anymore - except for my son lol; Do you have professional RL experience?  Or just more of a regular type school & church background

Antonio Galloway: Well.... i started singing way back when I was in kindergarten. My music teacher gave me a solo in a school play. She said I had poise and heard me singing into a hairbrush so she started me young lol. Then I sang in school all through grade school and high school having solos. Also sang in the churches and one thing led to another and eventually started getting requests to sing around the area.  Yes I have recorded several albums, sang on the radio, TV, and internet... and got to sing across the country which was a lot of fun. I learned a lot. Eventually I settled in Las Vegas and sang there as well.  It all started in the churches. I did a lot of gospel and they booked me one after another

Anjelyc Morales: Oh nice, do you know Wayne Newton?!

Antonio Galloway: hahahaha Actually..... no but used to work across the street from his mansion in Vegas.

Anjelyc Morales: That's how my father began singing and still to this day sings, very soulful, those gospel singers

Antonio Galloway: Its a wonderful training ground.

Anjelyc Morales: Nice...so according to Twilight, you are a 'Rat Pack' singer. Is there any particular reason that genre speaks to you the most?

Antonio Galloway: Many reasons. The first is, I grew up with that music. I came from an Italian family and we lived in Dean Martin's hometown so... we always had the music of Dean and Frank as the background for so many of my memories growing up. SO many of their songs trigger events that happened. It's funny but those songs have a place in my heart. They are "home" to me. I always loved the way the guys have fun, and were so cool. I admired them a great deal and when I grew up moved to Las Vegas where the Rat Pack called home.

Anjelyc Morales: Oh how neat, I grew up around alot of Italian families lol...do you ever sing outside the genre? Or do you tend to stick to it for the most part

Antonio Galloway: I tend to stay within the genre for the most part.... however.... I was classically trained in opera so... I can hear my music teacher in the back of my head at times telling me to expand. lol So, I do throw in songs from musicals, some more contemporary things as well and some Elvis tunes along the way. I try and have fun and will only sing songs I have fun doing. So yes I do tons of Sinatra and Dino but... I love all types of music so, you never know what I'll throw in anything from Elvis to Lionel Richie to Andrea Bocelli

Anjelyc Morales: i luv Lionel Richie, my mom raised me on Motown so I tend to want to hear all that kind of music every now and then lol...ooh I'm going to request one next time LOL, put you on the spot :P

Antonio Galloway: hahahahaha if I have the song I'm always happy to do it. If I get enough requests for songs I don't have I will go out and learn it.

Anjelyc Morales: I'll give you advance notice then lol...I like almost anything by him tho lol I want to know how a singer starts to become a performer in SL, I imagine it's quite hard and a bit of a struggle so would you mind telling me a bit about how you got your start?

Antonio Galloway: Sure, be glad too. When I first started SL, I had a lady in my life who was always telling me I needed to sing in SL. She would tell me every chance she got because she believed in me, probably more than I believed in myself. I let it go for nearly two years. I always wanted to do it, but lacked the time to devote to it. This year a few things changed in my RL that opened up some time. Asea, my partner in SL started repeating the same thing I was told before... that I should sing in SL, she kicked my butt a few times. Finally I got the nerve to contact a few people and doors opened up and I got booked into several clubs rather quickly. I wish I would have done this way back when, but I am lucky.

Anjelyc Morales: oh so you haven't been doing this too long then?

Antonio Galloway: No. I am really new to the SL music scene having only started this past Spring.

Anjelyc Morales: Oh wow, that I didn't know I've only heard you once but I thought you were an SL professional! Well thank goodness for that great lady in your life kicking your butt into submission lol. Is there any particular song or request that you would consider a favorite to sing?

Antonio Galloway: Great question, but thats a tough one.

Anjelyc Morales: I figured :D

Antonio Galloway: I'd have to say I have a handful of favorites... and certain songs I get requested nearly each and every performance. I'd have to say either "Can't Help Falling In Love With You", "Besame Mucho" or "Always On My Mind" Those are requested often and I always get a good response from the audience
Anjelyc Morales: I have a good question...I want to know if you have like crazy tv fans...SL groupies? That strikes me as hilariously awesome if it happens

Antonio Galloway: Does Twi count??

Anjelyc Morales: yes she absolutely does! LOL

Antonio Galloway: Yes, I have some truly amazing people who follow me around. I love them all dearly. There is a small handful that have gotten to know me and I have a lot of fun with from the stage. I've been blessed with great fans but if I had to pick the crazies I'd go with Zin, Twi, Chelle, Asea and Kelly. Those people tend to keep me in stitches. I once mentioned a crush I had on Wonder Woman during a song introduction... and by the time I finished the next song I looked out there and had three women dressed as Wonder Woman. It got me laughing hard.

Anjelyc Morales: LOL omg yeah when Twi and Kelly get together its a gigglefest definitely

Anjelyc Morales: What inspires the songs that you sing, and the way that you sing them? Every song is different, love, fun, happy...yep I'm nosy and want as much dirt as possible. Like for instance, do you think of your lovely lady friend when you sing a love song hehe

Antonio Galloway: I find that certain songs hit certain chords in my life.... being a musician I relate to music very well and certain songs trigger memories good and bad. Sometimes I remember lost love in my own life and that nearly brings me to tears during a song, or maybe remembering a goofy event with my daughter, or laughing with friends and yes certain people tend to respresent songs to me. Even my grandparents or mom and dad have songs that bring them to mind.  Do I sing romantic songs to my lady? The answer would be yeah. LOL

Anjelyc Morales: that's so true, like when people hear a song on the radio even and get all choked up...I imagine its more so for the persons singing them

Antonio Galloway: Absolutely. I relate so much to the words especially since I try and feel those words, I wont just sing a song to sing it.

Anjelyc Morales: If you could explain to someone how it feels for you to sing for an audience, whether in RL or SL how would you describe it?

Antonio Galloway: It's a rush.  Let me explain... yes there is always that touch of nervousness in every performance but I have found I am able to express myself on the stage by just relaxing, having fun and cutting loose. If I laugh it makes the audience remember that and they want to come back because 9 out of 10 times they had fun because I had fun too.

Anjelyc Morales: That's a good answer lol now this is my last question but its hopefully thought provoking lol so take as much time and words as you need to answer it in your own way

Anjelyc Morales: What do you think everyone in SL can do to further support live entertainment on the grid and keep venues such as Club Jester alive and kicking? What advice would you give all of us music lovers to keep singers like you around...

Antonio Galloway: It's simple but it's probably the MOST overlooked aspect of live music in SL. Its this.... DONATE to the venue. Yes, we singers appreciate your tips to us, however if the audience doesn't support the club then there will be no places for the singers in SL to sing. It costs a lot to keep those doors open. It's why I always encourage the audience several times during a gig to donate to the club. As a singer I have seen clubs disappear because the owners couldn't keep them going. The sad thing is many of those same clubs were always packed. People just didn't donate. The clubs and even the singers aren't doing this to get rich. We do this because we love the music. So if I can leave you with one message... make sure you send love to the clubs. I love Club Jester and the wonderful people in it. Twi, Kelly... those two are amazing people and I want to see this club and all the others survive so we can continue to have wonderful times every week within their doors.

Anjelyc Morales: So true, and I agree the most overlooked. Anywhere else, especially in RL you pay or some kind of cover charge, ticket fee...it's so important to support the venue. Tier fees are no joke on SL lol its like paying RL apartment rent

**THIS IS WHERE WE GOSSIPPED PROFUSELY ABOUT TWILIGHT DARWIN!**

Antonio Galloway: Hope all my answers made sense. LOL

Anjelyc Morales: LOL totally did, thanks so much for meeting up with me I hope I didn't ask too much lolll

Every Friday at 6 pm SLT, Antonio sings at Club Jester! It is a friendly venue with wonderful live entertainment and the most welcoming people you ever want to meet.  I hope all of you stop by and hear Antonio's amazing singing, as well as all the other performers at Club Jester!

Sometimes....

Every now and then I wander for no particular reason.  Not really bored, there's usually about 5 things I can do to keep me busy.  Just sometimes...you're in the mood to see what's out there.  I'm a little burnt out on hunts right now, I think and I just wanted to enjoy being in a shop without crossing my eyes looking for a lil bitty something with a prize in it.  Don't get me wrong, freebies rock and when they're good quality like the designer would sell well that's just all kinds of awesome.  But, sometimes its just nice to find something you like - get it and go!  Interestingly enough, these items are a mixture of the two lol.  Go figure.  I went to a sim for 50L Friday and came across Nayar.  Upon looking around, I pretty much liked what I saw bought a skirt and of course, subscribed to the group.  I have a serious subscriber addiction, and I really need to stop.  But I can't!  I'm all filled up on groups and I want so much more!!! Why does there need to be a limit? I digress, can't change the rules by hollerin.  But seriously, half of mine are work related and I am not getting my full group potential out of it with a cutoff point.  Just sayin...

Back to the skirt, there were a few different colors and I opted for this deep blue that almost looks black because its a color I don't have already.  The tee is from !Ohmai, because Anya made me tear up a little by getting rid of a bunch of her !Ohmai basics stuff when she closed her shop down @ Cheesecake.  When I got the boots from COCO, I found several different outfits to wear with them so I didn't have to take them off for about a week.  Luv em!  Aeris turned me into a COCO addict, and I got some ultra cute stuff for my Bday/Rez Day there.  Definitely worth it to stop by and take a look.  Great group gifts also, hello so I'd like to keep it! Ahem...

I have a massive Truth folder in my inventory, and during the last half off sale I got this cutesy hairdo.  Omg can I tell you?  I was cleaning out my inventory again, I do this on a semi-regular basis to keep everything streamlined - you wouldn't believe the notecards you can accumulate, and double lm's.  Anyhow, I found 3 shoes from Truth and I was like omg when'd I get them?  The pair of boots I remember, they were a group gift and I expect the others were also I just can't recall at this time.  During a rather cute, and thankfully short hunt @ the Rue D'Antibes Sim I got this pretty scarf at Zeery's.  Actually, I've been there before and have a few other scarves so the one in the pic is mine, not the hunt item.  Buttt the hunt gift is also very nice.  I got some great gifts with this red seal hunt and it didn't drive me nuts!  Bonus!!  I dunno, this isn't a big huge I need to tell you my whole life blog...just a little something I threw together because hey, why not.  Go check out some shops, buy some things...add to your group spaces and basically...enjoy Second Life!

ReZ dAy!

*This is 2 days late, my acct was fooked for a bit!*
Today is my Rez Day! Happy Rez Day to meh! It sounded very rock & roll in my head!  So, this is actually the first rez day I've been actively in SL lol.  Crazy right?  I decided my blog would be a little bio if you will.  How I started, and how I got to be here now 3 years later in SL.  We'll laugh, we'll cry, we'll ...lets face it, we'll probably laugh alot.  I am quite aware of how crazy I can be at times and I rather tend to embrace it.  I wouldn't be me without it.  Here we go!  This is how it alllll began...[too dramatic?]

I was on Yahoo! Msgr, when my friend Ladybug [SL name] IM'd me.  She was frantic and excited, and I was AFK.  So, being incredibly impatient and annoying [love ya gurl!], she texted my phone to tell me to get my assi to my computer so she could talk to me instead of just texting me what she wanted.  When I finally got back to my comp, she rambled about how I should always be at my comp when it was her and then told me she had been with a friend on Second Life.  She says to me 'gurrrrl you have to dl it!  go find it and get it' so I said, "dude, wtf is it" and she's like "OMG Mag [SL name] told me to dl it a few months ago and she finally got around to getting me on with her and she took me to some place and there were avatars having sex!  i could hear like moaning and everything!!! LOL".  So of course, my natural response was "ugh, leave it to you to find more places to be a perv".  'Shutty and go download it!'  So I did, and by the time it was all said and done, it was time for sleep lol.  So I had found out about it, searched it and downloaded it.  Then I registered, and went to bed.  A few weeks later, she tried to get me on and my laptop just couldn't handle it so I deleted it, uninstalled it and never went on again.  Pretty uneventful, huh?

About 7-8 months later, I got a new Acer and I was in a very ho-hum relationship with a fewl of a man and I got an email about SL, so I recalled having made an account.  I had my info re-sent to my email and I signed on.  My avatar was so weird looking, but at the time I didn't know any better.  I thought everyone looked like that.  I spent a few weeks trying to learn how to walk, and I was stuck in between a wall and a tree somewhere on Orientation Island for about 3 weeks.  I'd log in, try to get the heck out of there...fail and log off.  I lost patience very fast with the game, and so I never got too far with it in the beginning.  Eventually, I ran into a lovely woman who on voice, made fun of me and gave me a transferable skin and shape.  Can I just pause here to tell you what I looked like? OMG I don't know who remembers the default avatars here in 07-08 but I had the one with the red dress, white shirt and black ponytails for hair.  Ok so I thought manipulating the newb hair would give me an actual hairstyle I would like.  So very wrong...I don't know what I did to it but it looked like zombie hair.  The only claim I can give myself is it was my signature black LOL.  I tried to give her pinkish nail polish, and somehow turned her whole arm up to her elbow this pinkish purple color.  I attempted to give myself black tights, my whole body was black except my head which was sickly white, and of course my colorful arms.  I was one hot mess let me tell you what.  Had I known how to take a snapshot back then, I would have been afraid to break the camera.  So, she transferred me these items and I crashed.  I was so embarrassed at what she had said and the fact she wasn't actually on voice talking to me, but someone else telling them how I looked and OMG'ing it all that I didn't log back on for several more weeks.  Upon reading some tutorials on how to get dressed and whatnot, I braved it once again sometime in early April or May, I believe.  I put on the shape and skin she gave me, and proceeded to try to find different clothes.  I learned slowly but surely, and all alone because Ladybug's computer had died, and she didn't have another one that could handle SL.  My partner in crime was nowhere to be found and I was trying to learn all of this new world on my own.  Luckily, I'm ridiculously intelligent and got things fairly fast now that my computer could keep me online long enough to learn some things.
I found a new skin that I liked a bit better, and I worked on making my own shape to look how I wanted.  Didn't know at the time about buying shapes, and what have you.  Just thought everyone made their own, so I did and I still use it to this day.  Of course, I have several versions now but all with the same face and I think I'll keep it lol.  When I had started to get in the swing of things, I met a sweet man just starting out himself and we became friends.  He took an immediate liking [of course] to me, and we hung out whenever we were on together.  We're partners in SL and RL now, and the rest of that story is for another blog lol.  In between Gio and I partnering, I had another SL break due to a hectic RL and another computer malfunction.  I had to get my laptop fixed, and was working 2 jobs.  He looked for me everyday until I came back and I of course thought he was some sort of crazed stalker.  When we were on, we explored SL together & made the most out of each minute we spent online.  We danced, we shopped, we built random things that made no sense just to try out our editing skills.  One day, I walked into a shop that would change my whole SL.  I became the group manager @ Mythology which later became MYTH, became friends with Aeris & she actually was the one that told me I should try blogging.  She taught me about clothing, where to shop and how to flick my Flickr. I did, and here I am now with my site, which I've been on for more than a year *yay* and also blogging for The Metaverse Tribune [http://metaversetribune.com - Mi Paraiso Virtual].  I am taking my own pictures and actually making them look decent enough to post *yay again!* and attempting to learn other things as well.  People actually stop and tell me they like the way that I write, they like that I put so much effort into my blogs and that they actually just like reading what I ramble about here.  It makes me all warm and fuzzy...I used to write poetry [well I still do...] and songs, and now I write about Virtual Fashion and I kinda adore it.  Photography is a RL love of mine, and I'm excited to learn more about creating beautiful photos for SL as well.  Making my own shapes led me to creating shapes for others also, which as of now I'm only doing on a 'Hey u asked, so sure I'll make one' basis.  I probably do too much, but I think i'm just well rounded lol.  I don't want to rule the world, or SL...I just want to be me. I don't need to be popular, I just want those that know me to view me in a good light.  I'm not high and mighty, I just always try to do as good as I can!  All in all, I think me is pretty ok.  This is just how I wagonwheel.  And even after reading all of this, I hope you do too! Hehe...if not, damn it I dunno.  Lemme give u a linden...I'm poor, is 1L$ a good bribe??

Skin Sloot! Pt 1

There are so few things that you can do in SL anymore to make yourself unique. Popular items is usually a matter of 'everyone has that!' because its well known and can sometimes be hard to stand out among the crowd. Making your own shape, or having one custom made that no one else will ever have [which I do, btw lol] is a good option. I made my own shape and I have different versions but all with the same face. I've looked like this since '08 and I happen to adore my Anjelyc silhouette ;) the versions mainly for modeling outfits and my curvier version after I had my son. Skins are such a vital part of your look, and there are so many choices out there that its almost impossible to know if you've made the right choice the first time you buy one. I spent 1000L$ on my first bought skin, and I thought I was just the biz back then. It was not that cute lol, I still have it tho because I can't bear to part with it. Those that like to change their looks up have several different skins, some have their favorites that no matter what they will always be wearing and there are the chameleons [ahem AERIS] that have a skin folder bigger than some people's shoe inventory. Doing this kind of thing can be incredibly pricey and we all can't afford that so I say do whatever works for you as long as you are happy with the look you are presenting. It's not easy out here in this crazy mixed up Second Life, and we do what we can. There are alot of decent freebies out there, so stock up on those as much as you can! Do hunts, subscribe to skin stores & catch those sales!

This particular skin that I've chosen to highlight in my series of Skin salutes if you will, is from [Pink Fuel]. I looked at it, and it screams 'emo' to me, so that's why I took pictures like this. The poses are emo poses from [LAP] and the bodysuit is from COCO. While we're being honest here, I don't think i've seen an emo avatar but I imagine they are out there. Nonetheless, this skin isn't just that it's just what popped into my crazy head at the time I bought it. I think the details are awesome, the lips especially. Love a good set of lips on my skins, people. With all of the fashion out there I can think of a number of looks this skin would compliment. And nowadays, when skins of quality are up to and over 1000L$ just for 1 it is a total and complete steal at the 75L$ I paid. This one is the Maple skin tone, but there are 4 others to choose from. Go check them out, and all of the other wonderful skins down at [Pink Fuel]. I have a feeling there may just be one there that you fall in love with...

[Pink Fuel] might not be one of those uber popular skin places to shop but it might just be the perfect place to highlight you in the crowd of effortlessly normal avi's.

We're in FULL GRAY here, people!

Anyone that knows me knows I'm incredibly annoying when I'm working on something. I am like a rabid kitty on catnip clawin a curtain and out for each ribbon. Doesn't make me a bad person tho, just dedicated! I like to do my best, and so with working with Wear Gray I was stopping by every so often and checking out the sim. Making sure I saw each set-up, and snapping pics of the ones I liked. Then i'd see random things I hadn't noticed before, or that someone had just set up and had to go around again. I think I might know the sim better than the people that built it. It really was a neat experience to see as people were setting up, decorating and re-arranging all of their sale items and vendors before there were any people there. Never actually done it before, good times lol. I'm sure after awhile everyone got to wondering what the heck I was doing walking in circles, but everyone knows when there's that much to look at you miss things! Hopefully by now I've seen it all. There was one shop in particular that I had to stare at for a long time...the setup near brought tears to my eyes and I think the designer did such an amazing job.

I encourage everyone to stop by and take a look, the designer of Elymode clearly put alot of heart & soul into this setup and it would be a wonderful thing to support the time she took to do this. Also, she's got some fabulous vendors out all 100% donated to the ABTA!

This cutesy lil dress is courtesy of *Boof*, which also made the Wear Gray pin in the picture down below. The tree trunk is from {what's next} and it is one of several adorable home items available for the Wear Gray fair. This trunk has a shadow/non shadow option and 4 sit options for your convenience. They are both donated items for the ABTA.
This picture is my little collage of looks from the Wear Gray donations vendors. We have the I 'heart' SL tee from *Rezlpsa Loc* as well as the Anne Wears Gray Hair, the *Boof* Wear Gray pin and MYTH Trepid Jeans. Then, we have a White tee & Pocket Cord Shorts from *Dreams* followed by a dress from Vanita's Vestures called Opiate & the little ribbons fluttering about the pic are courtesy of Foxworth Creations Gray Ribbon Poofer. There are so many items up for sale here, as well as auctions going on for one of a kind items so please come on down to Wear Gray Fair, spend a few lindens, meet some new people and help an amazing charity!

{ Zaara }

On our first official 'SL date to shop together', Gio and I were looking for formalwear. We both enjoyed going to the clubs, allowing our avatars to dance the night away and just act silly together in IM. He's very mellow, loved the fact that SL is riddled with romantic clubs with romantical slow music lol. I love music, and loved being with him so I didn't care where we went. Back then, and really still to this day it's not easy to find good quality, sexy mens clothing. When you do, its almost like you've hit the lotto. God forbid the place closes down or something, SL is so woman-centric when it comes to fashion. The same is true for RL really, but its not quite so needle in a haystack.

In reality, i'm pretty picky with my lindens...even now. We went to a bunch of stores and I couldn't find a thing that I liked. I was so set on finding something I actually wanted because I was using MY LINDENS! that it took forever, Gio couldn't find anything either and we ended up in those horrid freebie outfits lol. At the end of the day I guess it didn't matter because we spent no time conversing with anyone else. We were just 2 avi's in our own little world, dancing the SL night away. Eventually, we did get some better clothing but that was quite a bit of time away hehe. My very first outfit I ever bought with my own lindens was from MYTH. It was a complete and total coincidence that Aeris ended up being my 'boss' and then & still my friend. I didn't even know where I was when I bought it. Just liked it, wore it for days and saw it later and said 'HEY! I HAVE THAT!!' The first dress I bought was a beautiful, shiny, poofy dress that could be worn 2 ways so I thought omg what a bargain! Interestingly enough, I wasn't shopping for dresses when I found it. I was in a hair shop, if that's not the silliest thing ever. The dress was somewhere between 350-500L$ and I sat there debating the purchase for at least 20 minutes. I bought it tho, because it was so pretty in my opinion...more pretty than most of the things I had come to see on SL thus far. I bought it, threw on my best updo and the most decent pair of shoes I owned and we danced! Still to this day, I can wear that dress so yeah...I call it a great purchase.

The reason I rambled on about all that is because I was out randomly shopping around for the pretty things, and I came back across Zaara. I purchased a cute yellow top and mentally shopped for some jewelry. RL called, so I had to keep it all in my head until I go back. The indian asthetic, the beauty of the clothing and the timelessness of the pieces are rare. How many times have you dropped crazy amounts of Lindens for something you wore once or twice? I'll still be pulling out that beautiful dress when Gio and I are out dancing with our handicapped HUD's on.

MIEL!

Anjelyc Morales: Pa, look at this cute skirt
Giovanni Dezno: Where are you?
Anjelyc Morales: I'm at Cupcake!
Giovanni Dezno: There's a store called cupcake?
Anjelyc Morales: No, the sim is Cupcake...the store is MIEL
Giovanni Dezno: i could go for a cupcake ..

ANYWAYS...

Every now and then when I have not a thing to do, I go to a random clothes sim and look at all of the stores. This may seem weird but, its how I end up finding awesome hidden gems lol. So, I don't do this often because lately SL has been so hectic for me but awhile back I happened upon this cute little store called MIEL. I walked inside and I was smiling, people! The clothing is so well done, the quality and detail is so wonderful. For everyone out there that's still got a little innocent child-like side to them, you have to check this place out. It's obviously for adults, but I could totally see a teenager or even a child wearing these clothes also. They come with re-size scripts and everything in the store is incredibly adorable.

The first item that caught my eye was the Tulip skirts, with matching belt. It is so cute and fun, and it comes in 3 colors. You have to see it on, i'm telling you. There are also tanks with optional prim bottoms to the shirt, and they come plain or with a little mid-section pocket. On the tank straps, a sweet little bow and there are matching headbands available to complete this sassy little outfit. The cute lil shoes are called Ant Flats, perfect with pretty much any outfit - they are casual quality and come in a variety of colors.

When I looked through the rest of the store, I decided I wanted to (at some point) own everything that they make. What can I say? I'm a clothes freak and the designs at MIEL make wearing clothes fun, fun, FUN! Everything is so versatile, as I said I could even see younger avatars wearing the outfits and would recommend very much stopping by and seeing what they have. I would almost guarantee you leave with something. I know SL is very into Couture and all of that, but really if you can't see the awesome-ness in the clothes at MIEL...I just don't know! I haven't steered you wrong yet, have I! *lol* Trust me ~ GO!!!

Make Him Over Hunt!

It's almost the end of the month and the fabulous Make Him Over hunt is coming to an end! For weeks now, since June 1st our SL guys have scrambled from sim to sim trying to find all the wonderful little goodies created just for them! The Make Him Over hunt is an absolutely brilliant idea, being that so many of the hunts on SL are generally filled with items for the women. It was high time the men went out and got themselves some great quality items to bulk up their inventories! There have been so many blogs about this hunt, from the innovation of the idea to helping with hints for the hunt.

I myself enjoyed watching my Gio wander around and come home with lots of goodies to unpack and put away! There were some glitches in the beginning, and when something is new thats to be expected. Most were cordial about it, altho I have to say there were some ... lets say 'heated discussions' during the group chat. For the most part, everything went well and all the guys out there got some really great skins, eyes, outfits, shoes and hairstyles! Even a few pieces of jewelry sprinkled in there to make any established avi a bit prettier and to help all the newbies out on their quest to look more like men and less like cartoons! Cudos to Samara Pennell, who organized the hunt and whipped the group into shape when they were being a lil extreme. All in all i'd say this was an awesome idea and a great hunt, i'm sure the guys are looking forward to next year! Possible new designers, new goodies and oooh happy moment ~ a chance for the guys to bond! AWWWWW
For those of you that haven't yet got your tooshies out there, HURRY! HURRY I SAY! The huntis over June 30th and trust me, there are awesome things to be had! Best part? All FREE!!!

Here's the starting spot for those that need it ~ http://slurl.com/secondlife/Kmadd%20Enterprise/190/91/26

DeeTaleZ Update!

Just a quickie update on what's going on with DeeTaleZ!

The sim is busy as usual, apparently not just when Steffi's partying lol. There are a bunch of models showing off the wonderful creations that she comes up with everyday, so if you are ever wondering what something might look when you put it on, just check out the models!
There are also a few new outfits coming out, and I felt obliged to let everyone know about them. First things first, last update Steffi came out with some awesome black and white prim toed stiletto's that had a star pattern. They are absolutely a must-have, and this week she has come out with a dress that matches the shoes to perfection! In addition, it has that special hug-the-booty shape to it that the guys luv to see!
I also saw this great outfit that matches an outfit I bought at DeeTaleZ's Grand Opening for my Gio! Now we can be one of those couples that walk around matching [u either luv it or hate it] and see what happens hehe. I suggest that if you have some clubbin to do this weekend, you stop by DeeTaleZ and check out their new releases. You will be turnin heads!

DeeTaleZ Grand Opening!!!

As far as I know, anyone that has a sense of style and an eye for the fabulous has a Top 5 (or 10). The places you can go into and NEED to buy something in there! It doesn't matter what day of the week you go, or even every day...you will see something u didn't see before that you have to own! I have such a list...mine happens to be more of a Top 15, but lets not dwell ok? This particular blog is more of an homage, for lack of a better adage (u like the fancy words, right?) to one of the first stores I gasped for. There aren't many designers that can really surprise you with what they come up with in a good way. Believe me, I've looked! Once upon a time, Gio & I were looking for nice men's clothing, which is for some reason incredibly sparce in SL. We came across FreeSoul and were pleasantly surprised and shocked at the same time LOL...mind you, we were both fairly new and had not been on a shopping spree so to speak. The quality of clothes blew us away, and so did the prices! When you are new, you just don't know the difference between people that just want to charge and not give quality and what is truely quality. Freesoul was obvious quality and we did end up buying some items for the both of us! Price and all, it was worth it because dagnabit we looked GOOD. Recently, I had a small SL break and came back to a notice that Freesoul was closing! I was completely devistated for 10 minutes, until I read further and realized they were going to re-open with a new name and new designs *WHEW* lol.
I was given the privilege of being able to walk around the sim before it was done, and see what was being done. It was such an amazing sight, to be able to see it mid-creation and although not before everyone, before most! Steffi Villota, Owner of DeeTalez (formerly FreeSoul Design) and Dark Hennesy, DeeTaleZ Builder are a power couple taking SL by storm! Not only have they re-designed their clothing line, but they've revamped their accessories, prim nails, new skins, shoes, eyes and even teeth! Yes, people I said TEETH. DeeTaleZ Dental can be found in the Bodyshop of the DeeTaleZ sim and I have never heard of such a thing which goes to show what visionaries these two really are. They are also very sweet, down to earth people that just want to do good work and they succeed as far as i'm concerned. I had the opportunity to ask them a few questions, little impromptu blog interview - here's what they had to say!

Anjelyc ~ The world needs to know! I have to ask! Why the new name?
Steffi & Dark - Well the reason for the new name is, we became a RL company and Freesoul Design is a registered Trademark already. And to not get into any trouble we thought it might be better to change the name.
Anjelyc ~ That is a very good idea lol, we don't want to see you guys on the news one day. Do you think it will be difficult to transition from FreeSoul, which everyone knows - to DeeTaleZ? Why?
Steffi & Dark ~ uhm well...wont be that hard...okay there are many many many people who know us as Freesoul Design, and it probably will be impossible to reach them all but also there are many who havent heard of us yet and maybe we can get their attention now ;o)
Anjelyc ~ That is so true, way to think positive. I took a walk around your new sim, and its looking great! How did you go about deciding on moving to a new sim?
Steffi & Dark ~ first of all, tyvm :) the decision came with the new name....we thought it would be better to not only come up with a new name but rather with a whole new layout.
Anjelyc ~ Great idea, its really creative. How hard is it to get everything just as you want it?
Steffi & Dark ~ best example would be the new SIM....6 MONTH of building!!! lol
Anjelyc ~ Ok that's crazyness lol, you guys sure work your butts off. Is there a tentative Grand Opening date? Will there be a celebration of any kind?
Steffi & Dark ~ No, there is no tentantive Date set yet....but yes....there will be a Big Ass Grand Opening Party :DDD
Anjelyc ~ Very cool, i'll keep my calendar open hehe...what made you branch into tattoo's?
Steffi & Dark ~ Well we have had Tattoos with Freesoul already, but never had the time to work on them constantly. But now our talented Tattoo Artist Ines Craft joined us and we can offer a wide range of Tattoos !
Anjelyc ~ I had no idea! Shows how clothes-centric I can be grrr. So all of your customers know your designs are AMAZING! Who is the real mastermind behind the creations?
Steffi & Dark ~ Mastermind & Bosslady Steffi Villota :D
Anjelyc ~ YAY for GirlPower lol! How do you go about putting together the pre-selected outfits that you sell as a whole ensemble?
Steffi & Dark ~ imagine, Steffi going through the Store picking this and that, wear it all together and the Outfit is done.
Anjelyc ~ Geez that woman of yours has got some talent huh! What are the inspirations for the designs?
Steffi & Dark ~ They just come up...lol...well from surfing through the www looking for actual trends of course and a bit from the taste for Fashion maybe :D
Anjelyc ~ Your attention to detail is incredible! How long does it take to create a piece?
Steffi & Dark ~ Always depends on the piece....but normally like 1 - 3 days.
Anjelyc ~ Being a fan of your designs, I feel it is an honor to be given the opportunity to write on your behalf and the behalf of DeeTalez. If you could say anything to all of your loyal fans/customers, what would it be?
Steffi & Dark ~ Thanks so much to each and everyone of you !!! Your the ones who made us who we are today !!! Keep Supporting original Creators and not cheap copys without their own idea. THANK YOU ALL !!!!
Anjelyc ~ Thank you so much for the opportunity to see your new creations, to walk your sim and to blog about your amazing stores!
Steffi & Dark ~ You are very welcome Anjelyc. Thank you aswell for the job your doing! Meaning giving designers the chance to present their creations that way!
Yesterday happened to be the Grand Opening and I was fortunate enough to attend. The sim was PACKED, let me tell you what it was...LAGTASTIC! That's what it was lol, but it was lots of fun. After I detached some HUD's and turned my graphics way down, I was able to walk a bit and see the crowds of people walking & flying the sim. Steffi and Dark were walking the im as well, randomly giving gift cards out to the crowd that came out to help them celebrate their Grand Opening! The party had some great music as well, DJ'd by Jayce Slade of WJay 106.9 - The Experience. Their station is streamed in the DeeTaleZ sim 24/7! Music, gifts, fun and lots of friends to help celebrate the incredible job we all know Steffi and Dark will continue, hopefully for a long time! If you haven't already stopped by the new sim, DOOOO IT! There is so much to see, so many shops to wander...so much to spend all your lindens on! The jewelry store is still under construction but there are items in there for sale! Freebies around the sim as well, and take the subway downstairs for customer service and gift cards.

Words can't begin to express how much of an honor I feel it is to be able to blog about this event, the new line and also getting to know both of these talented souls. With Steffi as Owner/Creator, and Dark as Builder, they can't seem to go wrong. I admire the dedication and attention they give to the things they create. It shows in their work that they aren't just out to make a buck, they want their names to be synonymous with QUALITY.

UNBELIEVABLE!

When I began this blog, I sent notecards to my friends list hoping that they might have some insight into the unsung fashionista during their own travels in SL. This entry is the product of that splendiferousness. As a hispanic woman, I know how hard it is to make your avi look anything like yourself (should you want to) when you are a newb. There are TONS of light skinned free skins to make your avi look better, as well as the freebie hair. Very little curly, wavy, ethnic looking hair in general, never mind freebies for a new resident.

I have been fortunate enough to find some great skins that are somewhat tan as I am, with wonderful detail to make my avatar pretty dang nifty. Armed with new landmark, I embarked on a journey to Street Dermatology. The name alone was brilliant to me, and with the added beakers and microscopes in the store it was just too cool. There are demo's of every skin they sell, gotta luv a try before u buy. Downstairs, you will find hair, jewelry and a variety of other accessories to choose from. The difference from other skin stores is Street Dermatology caters to the ethnicity challenged who may find solace in the diversity of the skins in this store. From the light skinned maybe with a sprinkling of freckles, to the deep skinned african queens and so much more! There are 7 tones to choose from, all including fantastic details down to the fingers & toes. The hairstyles come with a color menu, so you can change your look everyday. All skins come with tintable makeup, making it so easy to customize how you want to look day to day ~ match your clothes, match your rl, whatever you want! Street Dermatology is the place to go if you are shopping for a skin that embraces the unique, exotic you that ya wanna be!

(They also accept customized orders for that down to the last detail look)

I don't really have one. Most of the things I blog, I purchased. I am always honored if someone enjoys my writing enough to send me an item to add to the blog. When I have the time to do so, I certainly will. I do alot of events blogging and work so sometimes it does take a bit and I apologize for that! Thank you in advance for thinking of me.
